The large urban detention structure Piscinão Almeida in São Paulo, Brazil undergoing cleanup after a flood event

As part of the UNESCO "Water, Cities, and Global Change" conference in Paris, I presented work exploring the potential of the large stormwater detention structures being built all over the city – the piscinões – as a urban landscapes part of part of larger public space networks. The title of the presentation was "Piscinão: Problems and possibilities of stormwater detention as civic infrastructures in São Paulo".

The presentation is part of my ongoing Ciudad/Rio project.
